Which Other Languages Advice is Available For

by ManutdGurl on 07 Aug 2004 02:27 am

This forum is for any other languages you want to discuss, as I heard there about 80 languages you can do at IB level. Believe it or not, I cannot speak 80 languages, not even close to that in fact. I speak English (not at all obvious) and German. So if you have any questions about German IB, I would be glad to help. For the other 78 languages I am sure there will be someone who can help you..unless of course you are the only one doing that language, which I really doubt.

I also might be able to help a bit with Latin. Although I didn't do it at IB (school didn't offer it), I did GCSE and have now completed my first year of Latin at university.

Hi

I'm going to start IB1 next month and I might do Arabic SL as a self-taught subject because my school doesn't offer it but I'm not sure if I can make it. So, I was wondering if you guys know the course outline, if not, do you know where I can get the syllabus from?

thanks

German A1 self-taught

by ellie on 21 Nov 2007 08:24 pm

I am doing the IB Diploma in Australia and will begin German A1 self-taught in the next weeks. ( I only have one year of my diploma left though). I have a German teacher in Germany to help me with the literature, but who doesn't know anything about IB and a English teacher who doesn't even know the books I am studying ( and can't speak german anyway). So I am pretty confused how actually to study for myself.. Sure, I read the books analyse, compare, take notes, but yeah..

Does anybody do German or an other language self-taught and can give me some advises?

Thanks a lot!!

Elena
