About this site

Thank you for visiting the IB Resource website. My name is Marie Buda, and I took the May 2004 IB exam in Yokohama, Japan.

The IB was not an easy experience. I have never worked so hard in my life, and after two dark years of frustrated tears and caffeine nights I ended the course with 43 points. Looking back, I can say that it was worth it. The IB was an excellent experience giving me a well-rounded education. I am now studying psychology at Cambridge University in the UK.

While I was taking the course, what helped me greatly were samples of good essays and useful tips for the exams.

What was the secret to getting a 7? What made for a strong extended essay?

Like most people, I looked for answers to these questions on the Internet, but finding them was not easy. I longed for a central site with comprehensive links to IB resources. A site where people who had already taken the exam could share their knowledge and experience.

I never found the site I was looking for, so once the IB was behind me I decided to create my own. This is the result.

I am open for advice. I hope this site helps and I wish you the best of luck in your studies.

Hang in there!

♥ Marie
